Professor Hu has made remarkable achievements in research on the new numerical simulation algorithms for the interaction of nonlinear free surfaces and structures in marine engineering and development and utilization of marine renewable energy. Also, he has made significant contributions in the field of computational fluid dynamics(CFD), especially in the research on the Cartesian grid method, CIP method and Immersed Boundary method, etc.
