Shanghai Jiaotong University CMHL team participated in the 13th China Dalian International Maritime Exhibition

       From October 24th to 25th, 2018, the 13th China Dalian International Maritime Exhibition was held in Dalian World Expo Plaza, from Harbin Engineering University, 702 of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, 708 of CSSC, Shanghai Ship Transportation Science the “Numerical Tank” project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly launched by the Institute, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Dalian University of Technology and China Classification Society, also participated in the exhibition. At the same time, the China Digital Tank 1.0 Industrial Application Seminar was held. The units invited to participate in the seminar also included the French BV Classification Society, Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore Engineering Co., Ltd., Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd., China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation 711 Institute, China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Design Research Center, Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Jiangnan Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., CNOOC Research Institute, China National Petroleum Corporation Engineering Technology Research Institute and many other domestic ship and marine engineering industry first-class research units and the company.

       Mr. Zou Lu, Wang Jianhua, Dr. He Jiawei and Dr. Deng Di from the CMHL team participated in the seminar. Teacher Wang Jianhua introduced the development process of the "Vortex-induced vibration fast virtual test system" and the application of the stand-alone version of the software in the sub-project "Vortex-induced vibration/vortex-induced motion" undertaken by the research group. Mr. Wang, Lin Lin senior engineer of Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Professor Ma Shan of Harbin Engineering University, discussed and exchanged the database capacity of the software, the type of fluid force involved and the achievable range of vortex-induced vibration prediction of riser. During the conference, the participants also tried the stand-alone version and the online version of the software developed by our research group, which affirmed the computing power and operation convenience of the software. At the same time, it also put forward suggestions for software improvement.
