The Research Team Takes Part in the 13th ISOPE Pacific Asia Offshore Mechanics Symposium(PACOMS-2018）

On oct 14, 2018, The 13th ISOPE Pacific Asia Offshore Mechanics Symposium(PACOMS-2018) was held in Jeju island. Sungkon Han, a famous scholar, was invited to give a thematic report for this conference. The conference was held in two sub-sessions with 15 topics attended by more than 100 experts and scholars from universities, research institutes, enterprises and industries from all over the world.
Four members of the CMHL research group, Deng Di, Li Siming, Sun Chenguang and Qi Xiaozhou attended the meeting. They made academic reports on their articles named “Numerical Investigations of Vortex-Induced Vibration of Two-Dimensional Circular Cylinder Experiencing Oscillatory Flow”, “Numerical Study of Column Rounded Corner Effects on Vortex-Induced Motion of Semi-Submersibles”, “A NURBS-Based Hull Surface Modification Method for Hydrodynamic Optimization” and “Numerical Simulations of Ship Stopping Maneuver With Reversing Propeller”. International scholars spoke highly of the achievements in recent years of CMHL. Scholars carried out further communication and discussion on the report content of the members of CMHL.
During the symposium, four members not only presented the latest achievements, but also learned more about some other cutting-edge issues and research methods of naval architecture and ocean engineering, which is helpful to carrying out work for group.
