Ren Zhen won the “Outstanding Paper Award” for the 2017 Fudan Doctoral Academic Forum

The 2017 Fudan University's doctoral student forum of Aerospace Aviation and Mechanics was held on December 3, 2017 in Fudan University (Handan Campus). The forum is based on the theme of "Practicing in the world, exploring the world". The doctoral student forum of Fudan University was established under the strong support of the Graduate School of Fudan University and Fudan University Party Committee Graduate Work Department. It is held jointly once a year and has been successfully held for more than 10 sessions, providing an academic platform for doctoral students of all the universities in China to exchange their new ideas and having an important influence on the graduate students in the mechanics. The forum was hosted by Graduate School of Fudan University, Department of Postgraduate Affairs of Fudan University, Department of Aerospace of Fudan University, and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Acupoint Function. Fudan University Postgraduate Working Committee, Postgraduate and Fudan University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and the League of Students undertook. More than 80 experts, doctoral and post graduate students from more than 20 universities, research institutes and related institutions in China gathered together to discuss the latest research hotspots in general mechanics, solid mechanics, aircraft design, biomedicine and hydrodynamic mechanics. In this forum, Ren Zhen, a doctoral student of the research group, won the Outstanding Paper Award
Professor Peng Fujun, a special expert of the National "Thousand Talents Program" and deputy director of Science and technology committee of the 805 Research Institute, Zhang Junqian, professor of the Shanghai University and director of the Department of Mechanics, and Xia Ying, a professor specially invited by Fudan University, were invited to give a forum topic report. The forum set up 5 sub-venues, including "General Mechanics and Engineering Mechanics", "Solid Mechanics", "Aircraft Design", "Biomedical Engineering" and "Fluid Mechanics", and shared 56 academic papers. Ren Zhen, Ph.D., a doctoral student of the research group, wrote a paper entitled “Numerical Research on the course maintenance of Self-Navigating Ships in Waves” under the guidance of Professor Wan Decheng. He received praise from participating experts and postgraduate students, and he stood out from numerous reports and papers, winning the “Excellent Paper Award” of 2017 Fudan University Doctoral Forum of Aerospace Aviation and Mechanics Discipline.
