Group member Wu Jianwei won the Bureau Veritas (BV) scholarship

On the morning of November 14, the awarding ceremony of the Bureau Veritas (BV) Scholarship was held at the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering. Dr. Chen Xiaobo, Minister of BV International Cooperation Department, General Manager of Asia-Pacific Deep Water Technology Center, and Dr. Zhou Caimin, Technical Director of BV Shanghai Advanced Technology Research Center, visited the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering. Prof. Zhang Weigang, Party secretary of the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering, Prof. Wan Decheng, vice dean, and teacher Yang Jianjun, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, and Prof. Francis Lucien Noblesse, who was selected as the “Thousand foreign experts” plan of the Central Organization Department, welcomed the guests. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on scientific research cooperation and the establishment of scholarships and jointly attended the scholarship awarding ceremony.
At the awarding ceremony, Secretary Zhang Weigang gave a welcome speech and conferred a visiting professor certificate on Dr. Chen Xiaobo. In his speech, Dr. Chen Xiaobao deeply recalled his studies and work history, described the origins of his relationship with Jiaotong University, and introduced the basic situation of the Bureau Veritas (BV) and its personnel, operations and development in Singapore and China. Yang Jianjun read out the list of the winners of the BV scholarship. Dr. Chen Xiaobo awarded the certificates to the winners. This scholarship is awarded to two Ph.D. students and two masters of the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean & Civil Engineering for their study. After the initial assessment of the Faculty and the final rating of the classification society, Wu Jianwei, a member of our research team, won this year's Bureau Veritas (BV) scholarship. After the awarding ceremony, Dr. Chen Xiaobo made an academic report titled "Some Aspects Towards to a Consistent Coupling of Viscous and Potential Flows" and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions with participants.
