On 24-27 July 2017, the twelfth OpenFOAM Workshop was held in Exeter (Exeter) University in the United Kingdom, more than 250 experts and scholars attended. Professor Wan Decheng and Dr. Wang Jianhua and Zhao Weiwen of the research group attended the conference.
As a research team that developed OpenFOAM program earlier in China, Professor Wan Decheng and two doctoral students, exchanged the group's work in the OpenFOAM field in recent years, and held the thematic forum on the application and development of OpenFOAM in navel and marine engineering calculation hydrodynamics.
Dr. Wang Jianhua's report “ Overset grid in naoe-FOAM-SJTU solver with applications to naval hydrodynamics” won the only best student report award of the conference.
At this meeting, Professor Wan Decheng, representing Shanghai Jiao Tong University, 708 Chinese ships, and the editorial department of hydrodynamic research and progress, made a bid for the next OpenFOAM Workshop and successfully won the hosting of the thirteenth OpenFOAM Workshop in 2018, which is also the first time that the conference is held in China.
