Introduction
The 14th International Workshop on Ship and Marine Hydrodynamics (IWSH 2027) will take place in Sorrento, Italy, from 23 to 26 August 2027, hosted by University of Naples Federico II. The workshop is normally a biannual event with a focus on marine engineering, ship hydro-dynamics, and floating renewable energy, and had been held successively in China, Korea, UK, Germany, Finland, Japan, etc. It brings together researchers and engineers from around the world to present and discuss the latest advances in theoretical, experimental, and numerical research in the field. The workshop will provide an excellent forum for presenting research, exchanging ideas, and fostering new collaborations between academia, research institutions, and industry. To encourage young researchers, the best student contribution will be recognized with the Best Student Paper Award. Selected papers will be recommended for publication in special issues or dedicated sections of the Journal of Hydrodynamics and Ocean Engineering, subject to the journals' standard peer-review process.

Conference Topics
The workshop welcomes contributions covering theoretical, experimental, numerical, and hybrid approaches. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

Linear and nonlinear waves and currents

Ship dynamics and hydrodynamics for design (resistance, propulsion, seakeeping, maneuvering, hull-form and propulsion optimization)

Sea loads and responses, including slamming, sloshing, green water, run-up, ice, and impact on ships
-
and floating offshore structures (e.g., breakwaters, FLNG, FSRU, semi-submersibles)
-
Propeller cavitation, erosion, and cavitating flows
-
Hydrodynamic performance of high-speed vessels and floating offshore structures
-
Hydrodynamics of renewable marine energy and ocean resources including offshore wind turbine, wave energy converter, tidal turbine, offshore photovoltaics, etc.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), digital twins, numerical wave tanks, and virtual visualization systems

Coupled problems including fluid–structure interaction, ship hydroelasticity and hydro-elasto- plasticity, hydrodynamic acoustics and underwater noise, ice–wave–structure interactions, etc.

Multi-scale problems including water-liquid-bubble mixed flows, anisotropy turbulent flows, etc.

Experimental methods for towing tanks, ice tanks, wave flumes, and ocean basins

Full scale marine hydrodynamics including sea trial and numerical simulations

Uncertainty quantification and uncertainty modeling

Emerging numerical methods and bio-inspired hydrodynamics

Other aspects of hydrodynamics relevant to ship science and ocean engineering including machine learning, deep learning, AI, big data, big model, etc.
