Presentation focuses on optimizing horizontal axial tidal turbines using multi-fidelity DeepONet. This approach involves a low-fidelity DeepONet predicting torque via BEM and a high-fidelity DeepONet learning the residual between high- and low-fidelity data. Low-fidelity inputs include four B-spline control points for the branch net and chord length distribution for the trunk net. High-fidelity data comes from CFD simulations using URANS and the k-ω SST turbulence model, with overset meshes and advanced interpolation techniques in OpenFOAM v2406. PCA compresses pressure data for the trunk net of the second DeepONet. While low-fidelity results show low test loss, CFD simulations face delays due to very short time steps. |
